Brick over sand on a concrete base. I’ve built 100’s of these. Im or email for more info.
get some of tha manufactured lumber stuff. They make it out of scrap wood and plastic, its really strong and screws together pretty easily. IT doesn’t rot like wood can, and is supposed to be very affordable.
We built a patio that we call a “ground level deck”. Picture a wooden deck, but built into the ground to be flush with the yard. We have a boardwalk leading up to it from the drive, and a curving boardwalk wandering off through the gardens.
Make sure you layer vinyl or plastic underneath to avoid plants growing through the boards.
if you use concrete
there are approximately 200 different colors and patterns you can have applied to the surface of the concrete…all the way from BLUE to any type of stone or any design you can think of..even you favorite pictures even you STATE college football team..
and concrete is so much more durable than the other stuff..
go look at
and do it yourself ones
so think about this ..it lasts so much longer and would be virtually maintenance free after the top coatings..
Good Luck
Stuart is right, build a ground leval deck.
